The Root of Our Love
Nothing, nothing at all can be in position to separate us from the love God…..
The love of God for us is the root of our love for each other. The reality is that if we do not rest in the love of God for us, we will not be able to love each other. Jesus said, this is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this that one lay down his life for his friends. Are you ready to stand in the gap of a friend, a neighbor or someone who hurt you, and is really in need of your help?
His love for us is before and under our love for each other. And it is a deep, deep, unshakable Calvary love. You are reminded to be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God forgave you. Are you ready to forgive someone you thought sinned because he killed a friend, burnt a neighbor’s house, humiliated or hated you?
|Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32|
God loved us and forgave us. Then he called us his children, this means we are His sons and daughters. Then he lavished his ongoing love on us as a family. We are all created in the image of God; we have no differences in the eyes of God, despite our tribes, faiths or cultures. And because we were created in His own image, we must be imitators of God. We must love one another. He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If God loved us, the way we were – sinners, we also have to love another despite our differences.
